Nate Diaz reveals unprecedented title fight against Dustin Poirier in UFC 230 main fight

After two years of stopping, Nate diaz will return to the octagon in a confrontation with Dustin poirier at UFC 230, November 03rd in New York (USA). The controversial fighter also confirmed via his Twitter on Tuesday (25) that he will take part in the main fight of the event in a fight for the inaugural belt in the 74,8kg category.

Poirier also spoke on his social media about the duel for the title of the new division: “It's been a long journey, but here we are. First title fight in the 74,8kg division in New York,” Dustin posted.

Dana White denies

Even with confirmation from the fighters, UFC president Dana White denied plans for a 165-pound title fight at UFC 230.

The organization does not yet have a 74,8kg division, however, the creation of the new category has been a topic of discussion for several years in the sport. Given that, the lightweight and welterweight divisions are the most bloated in the franchise. Each of the categories has more than 100 fighters signed.
