Injury takes Cara de Sapato out of fight against Theodorou at UFC 231

Through his Twitter, the Brazilian revealed the need for surgery to heal the injury to his pectoral muscle that removed him from the UFC São Paulo card.

Antonio Shoe Guy is out of the fight against Elias Theodorou at UFC 231, an event that takes place on December 08th, in Toronto (CAN). The Brazilian revealed through his Twitter, this Friday (14), that he will not be ready to face his opponent, as he must undergo surgery to treat the pectoral muscle injury he suffered in August.

“Hey, Elias Theodorou. Sorry, man. The injury I suffered is more serious than I imagined. I will have to undergo surgery and I will not be able to fight on December 8th. It's a shame, I would give you a jiu-jitsu lesson and I wouldn't hurt you, because you're a good guy!!”, he posted Shoe Face.

The Paraíba native's injury had already removed him from the event in São Paulo, on September 22nd. However, the organization expected the recovery period to be short and rescheduled the meeting for the Toronto (CAN) show. With the decrease of Shoe Face, Ultimate will have less than three months to find a new opponent for Theodorou.
