North American CM Punk arrived at the UFC in 2016 surrounded by expectations. The veteran star of WWE – the US teletach league – made his debut in the Octagon two years ago, when he was dominated by the unimpressive Mickey gall. He still had one more chance at the event, but lost his duel against Mike Jackson in June this year. At the time, Dana White, president of Ultimate, closed the franchise's doors to the telecatch star. However, the 39-year-old fighter is still considering returning to compete in MMA, even if it is for another organization.

With a large fan base, acquired through years in WWE, CM Punk – whose real name is Phil Brooks – left open the possibility of returning to compete in MMA.

“I'm not ruling it out, but I'm also not throwing my name into a hat right away,” Punk told the show'Ariel Helwani's MMA Show'. "Open doors. … There is absolutely no shame in taking a chance at life. And I had a great chance. Even talking about it now, I feel like there's a finality to it, but I don't want anyone to jump to conclusions and start making headlines,” Brooks added, remembering Dana's statement, which had 'closed the doors' of the UFC to him.

Punk, who is currently filming a movie in Hollywood, revealed that he will sit down with his coach Duke Roufus to decide whether he will return to competing in the near future. “I have to talk to Duke (Roufus). I need to get back to training and I plan to do that as soon as I finish this movie.”, he concluded.
