The expectations of fans and journalists at the UFC 228 weigh-in, this Friday morning (07), ended after the third athlete stepped on the scale. The English Darren till, scheduled for the main fight of the night, put an end to the rumors, weighed 77,11 kg and confirmed his title fight against Tyron woodley. 'T-Wood' was surprised to be a pound overweight and needed a little help from the towel to reach the weight.

The surprise at the weigh-in was the female flyweight champion, Nicco Montaño, who was taken to the hospital due to weight loss problems. She didn't show up for the morning weigh-in. Her opponent would be the Kyrgyzstani, Valentina Shevchenko stepped on the scale and weighed 56,4kg.
Due to the champion's health problem, the fight was removed from the UFC 228 card. The fight would be the co-main event of the night.
The fighters also had moments of tension when stepping on the scale, as the commissioner responsible for weighing took longer than usual to announce the weight. The athlete most affected by the commissioner's delay was Zabit Magomedsharipov which initially weighed 66,4kg, one pound over the limit. Even after stepping on the scale without clothes, the UFC representative still claimed that he was 200g overweight. Upon realizing the error, the employee spoke to his colleague, and they both saw that the correct weight was 66,2kg, the category limit.
The only Brazilian representative of the card, Jessica Pile Driver weighed 52,2kg, the same weight as her opponent Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
