A doubt surrounds the main fight of UFC 228 this Saturday (08) in Dallas, Texas. The challenger for the welterweight belt, Darren till will be able to weigh 77kg and confirm the title clash against the champion, Tyron woodley? To ensure that the fight takes place, the English fighter maintains constant monitoring with a nutritionist. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, nutrition specialist Eoghan Gallagher guaranteed that the fighter will make weight: '110% sure'.

“He is truly a unique individual. He's a skinny guy, he just has weird anatomy. His body doesn't respond to certain things like I expected, so I made adjustments along the way,” Gallagher explained of the weight loss process.
Till's nutritionist is confident that by the end of Thursday night the welterweight will be weighing 77kg. This will allow Darren to drink water and stay hydrated before stepping on the scales on Friday morning.
A change of Darren till for the middleweight division has already been planned by the fighter, but the nutritionist believes that the Englishman can continue competing at welterweight for a long time.
“I think the speculation of 'he shouldn't fight at welterweight' is extremely out of proportion. I think realistically he can stay at welterweight for the next few years, but just talking to him. This is a trend I hope continues in this sport, but it looks like he wants to move to middleweight sooner rather than later,” said Eoghan.
On two occasions, Darren till he had to fight at catchweight, as he was unable to reach his goal on the scales. The first time was against Jessin Ayari at UFC Stockholm in May 2017. The second occurrence was more recent against Stephen Thompson in May this year at UFC Liverpool. In both fights, 'Gorilla' emerged victorious.
