Bantamweight Miguel Torres had been fired from UFC, in early December, after making a rape joke on Twitter. But this Wednesday, the organization's president, Dana White, went back and announced the rehiring of the North American.
According to the leader, Torres, who published an apology on his official website, donated money to rape victim aid centers and visited them as a volunteer. The former WEC champion also underwent sensitivity classes.
“He handled his actions like a man,” White said during the UFC 140 press conference.
Torres has 40 wins, four losses and is a former WEC bantamweight champion. The black belt, who was a student of Brazilian Carlson Gracie, has won three in four fights, the last being over Nick Pace at UFC 139, in November.
