On the eve of a welterweight title fight against Tyron woodley, Darren till needs to face its first opponent, the scales, on Friday (07). The challenger must weigh 77kg to confirm the fight with the category champion at UFC 228 in Dallas, Texas. In an interview at Media Day, the English fighter spoke about the 'sacrifices' he has made to stay in the category. He also stated that he plans a move to middleweight in the future.

“I'm 25 years old and I'm not going to put my body through this much longer. As I get older, I'm starting to see that this isn't necessary. It's a lot of weight to cut and I don't need to do that. I'll probably go to the middleweights. That’s how I see my future,” explained Till.
The English fighter stated that his weight cut for the fight with Woodley is going well, but did not reveal how much he currently weighs. Till knows that to become welterweight champion he will have to make caloric sacrifices to reach 77kg.
“This is probably the thinnest I’ve been in the last few weeks before a match. Typically, I keep more fat. Now I'm thin. I have more muscle than my last fight,” said Darren.
Darren till He has been in the welterweight category since 2014 when he was 21 years old. On two occasions, the Englishman had to fight at catchweight, as he was unable to reach his goal on the scales. The first time was against Jessin Ayari at UFC Stockholm in May 2017. The second occurrence was more recent against Stephen Thompson in May this year at UFC Liverpool. In both fights, 'Gorilla' emerged victorious.
