The Brazilian Júnior PQD is another Tupiniquim athlete confirmed in the Bellator bantamweight GP in 2012. The fighter from the RFT team, who has a professional record of 11 wins and four losses, joins Marlon Sandro, Alexandre “Popó” Bezerra and Wagnney Fabiano, the other Tupiniquin athletes in the tournament, which will take place at the beginning of March next year.
PQD's debut in Bellator took place this year, when he lost to compatriot Marlon Sandro. However, in October, Júnior rehabilitated himself and submitted the American Brian Goldsby.
The Bellator Featherweight GP will award the winner with a prize of US$100 and the chance to compete for the belt in the category, which has North American Joe Warren as the current champion.
