Alexandre “Popó” Bezerra is another Brazilian athlete confirmed for the next season of the Bellator featherweight GP, scheduled to start in March 2012. Popó joins North Americans Ronnie Mann and Daniel Straus, also officially confirmed. Brazilians Wagnney Fabiano and Marlon Sandro are also expected at the tournament, but there is still no official confirmation from the show's production team.
Alexandre, who has a record of 12 wins and just one loss, is an old Bellator acquaintance. The Brazilian athlete has already had four fights in the organization and won them all, the last being over Douglas Evans, finishing the duel with a kneebar in November.
The winner of the Bellator featherweight tournament, which will be decided in the second half of 2012, will receive a bonus of US$100.
