“If I’m going to face anyone, other than the title fight on September 8th, it will be Rafael dos Anjos. This is the only fight that makes sense to me. He just fought for the interim belt, and this is the fight that takes me to that same place. I won't fight Darren till, which is who I wanted. I was offered the fight four times Colby covington, and he refused them all. The only opponent who can take me to the belt is Rafael dos Anjos. I was offered to fight him in São Paulo, in the main fight that would have Glover Teixeira against Jimi Manuwa. I accepted too, but he said there was a problem and it wouldn't be ready by then”, explained Usman.

The welterweight is scheduled to be the “reserve” for the main fight on the card in Dallas, in the division’s title fight between Tyron woodley e Darren till. If either of the two has a problem and needs to be replaced, Usman will be replaced. Dos Anjos suggested to Kamaru that they fight at the event if Woodley and Till were confirmed on the card.

Usman spoke about the confrontation with the interim welterweight champion, Colby covington. Ultimate offered the fight to the fighters on four occasions, but 'Chaos' denied the duel.

“If I were to face Covington on November 30th, I would accept it immediately. He's the only guy I really intend to hurt in the Octagon. In fact, they offered me the fight and I accepted, but he went to the White House and came back saying he didn't want that fight. This guy talked for a long time about how much he wanted to fight for the belt. When the UFC offered him the fight on September 8th, he said he wouldn't be ready. You are not the champion, but the interim one. You're guarding the place. The champion is ready. He gave you the chance and you refused. Only then did they go after the next in line, which was Darren till. Now you have to sit and wait,” concluded Kamaru.

Kamaru Usman He has a record of 14 fights, 13 wins and one loss in professional MMA. He hasn't lost since 2013 when he was beaten by Jose Caceres at CFA 11. The Nigerian won in his last fight Demian Maia at UFC Chile in May this year.
