Considered one of the best heavyweights in the world at the beginning of the decade, Rafael Cavalcante wants a place in the big events again. After a quick stint in the UFC where he suffered four defeats, the former Strikeforce champion admitted: “My goal is to go to Bellator.”
'Feijão' comes off a victory over Dan Konecke at World Fight Tour 7 in Spain in the event called “Road to Bellator”. Now, the Brazilian wants a chance to compete in Barcelona in November and to win a ticket to the organization. “My goal is to go to Bellator. I believe this will happen. I think it's a 95% chance, but I have this fight in Spain first. I’m just waiting for an opponent, but it will probably be in November,” said Rafael. With victories in Strikeforce over Yoel romero e King mo Lawal, who still competes at a high level, Cavalcante is confident he can be a fighter in the light heavyweight division. “I'm very competitive and I like to push myself all the time, and I'm focused on that. I'm always ready to fight. I'm taking care of my body to fight without injuries. My focus is to get there. (Bellator champion Ryan) Bader is there too, and he's still stuck in my throat, but we'll work it out. I will make it happen”, said Feijão.
