EFC Worldwide 72: find out how to profit from the African event

Belt fight between Martin Van Staden and Dave Mazany is the highlight of the weekend

Next weekend we won't have UFC events, but that doesn't mean you won't be able to stop winning online in MMA betting. After all, this Saturday (11), starting at 13 pm (Brasília time), the EFC Worldwide 72 will take place at the GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World, in Cape Town, South Africa, with a lightweight title fight between local fighter Martin Van Staden and American challenger Dave Mazany.

The Extreme Fighting Championship holds 10 events a year, and has been gaining fans not only in Africa, but across the planet. The organization has more than 120 contracted athletes, and has already sold out some of the biggest arenas on the continent.

PUBLICITY:

Martin Van Staden vs Dave Mazany

At 35 years old, the experienced Martin Van Staden is heading into his 17th fight for the EFC, and the record so far has been positive. The South African has 12 wins and four losses in the lightweight division. He is undefeated since 2016, and has won his last four fights, against Kalenka Kabanda, Christian Holley, Leon Mynhardt and Martin Van Staden, all by technical knockout.

The latter earned him the belt, which he will do everything to defend in front of his fans.

PUBLICITY:

The challenging fighter is no newcomer either. Dave Mazany is 34 years old, and like Martin Van Staden, he has already had the honor of wearing the belt. The loss of the title happened at EFC Wordwide 58, in April 2017, when it was finished by Don Madge, the “Magic Man”.

The North American's comeback came with triumphs over Themba Takura Gorimbo and Chris Bright, both by technical knockout, which qualified him to fight again for the right to occupy the top spot in the division's rankings. Mazani has a record of 16 wins, half of them by knockout, and seven defeats.

PUBLICITY:

The odds indicate great balance, but the current champion has slight favoritism. If Martin Van Staden manages to keep the belt, each real invested will return R$1,72 to the bettor's pocket. On the other hand, if the winner is Dave Mazany, the profitability will be a little higher, reaching 100%.

Gideon Drotschie x Jenaid Ebanks

In the co-main event of the event, former welterweight champion Gideon Drotschie tries his luck in a new division. It hasn't been good for the South African for some time now. The fighter has stepped into the Octagon just four times since losing the belt to Norman Wessels at EFC 35, in November 2014, and was still defeated again, by Dalcha Lungiambula and Warren Allison, in his subsequent engagements.

Englishman Jenaid Ebanks arrives as a sniper. Despite being 35 years old, he is quite inexperienced, and will only be fighting in his fourth fight as a professional. In the first two, he did well, submitting Marcin Protsko and Andrew Connor, but he got a taste of his own against Mikkel Kasper, who applied a rear naked choke to take him out of the fight.

PUBLICITY:

Despite his bad phase, Drotschie is a much more consistent fighter, and fighting in his country, he is fully capable of getting back on the path to victory. The South African occupies number six in the ranking, while the Englishman is 56th.

According to Oddsshark.com, Drotschie is heavily favored with a 28% return to win. Jenaid Ebanks, on the other hand, does not appear highly rated, and his triumph is priced at R$3,30 for every real bet.

Luke Michael x Armand Scheepers

The fight between South Africans Luke Michael and Armand Scheepers in the middleweight division is another that presents a great imbalance in the correlation of forces.

Better for the bettor, who can earn R$2,75 on each real invested if Luke Michael wins. The fighter, who started his career last year, made a great impression in his first two fights, but then was unable to repeat his performance, and lost to Nerick Simões and Call Ellenor. He is now seeking recovery.

Armand Scheepers, in turn, is a leap fighter, who since 2015 has only had one fight per year. In the last one, he lost to Gunter Kalunda Ngunza, breaking his unbeaten record in his career. Despite this record, his greater experience weighs in his favor, and makes him the favorite to win the fight, with a return margin of 40%.
