Bellator announces clashes for the first round of the welterweight GP

The first clash will be on September 29th between Brazilian Douglas Lima and Russian Andrey Koreshkov

With the success of the Heavyweight GP, Bellator also created the Gran Prix in the welterweight division in July. This Monday (06), the organization announced the bracket between the fighters and also the first duel. Those chosen to open the series of confrontations are the Brazilian Douglas lima and the Russian Andrei Koreshkov. They meet at Bellator 206 on September 29th in San Jose, California.

The date of the other fights has not yet been announced, but the quarter-final bracket will feature Douglas x Koreshkov; Paul Daley x Michael Page; Neiman Gracie x Ed Ruth and Rory McDonald x Jon Fitch.

Bellator still left a reserve clash between Lorenz Larkin and Yaroslav Amasov, if either athlete gets injured the winner will take his place.
