Another chapter in the history of the bantamweight champion, TJ Dillashaw and his arch-rival, cody garbrandt will be written into the main fight of UFC 227 on August 4th. The first meeting between the fighters was at UFC 217, in November last year and the clash ended in the first round with a knockout between 'Viper' and 'No Love'. In an interview with the website “BloodyElbow”, the title holder stated that he will 'ruin' his opponent's career.

“I’m going to ruin his career in this weight class. He's already getting his second chance, he should worry about improving, but I don't know if he really can. I don’t know if he’s as smart as a fighter, but I plan on ruining his bantamweight career,” assured TJ.

The rematch is risky for both athletes, but for Gardrandt it is even bigger, if he loses, he will face two defeats against the current champion and will hardly get another chance at the title in the sequence. Aware of this, Dillashaw is happy to end his opponent's career.

“This sport is crazy, obviously anything can happen. You always have to be ready for it and be nervous for this fight, but he doesn't have a chance. I will be ready for anything he can bring to the table. You always expect the toughest fight, but he doesn’t have a chance,” Dillashaw explained.

Even with the unfavorable record, Garbrandt is confident in the rematch against Dillashaw. “He knows I’m the best fighter. He will cheer up. He will speak; that he's great, that he's better and all that, but he knows. He knows the truth. I'm the best fighter in all. I'm the smartest fighter. And this is a bad situation for him, to get back into a title rematch,” explained Cody.

The bantamweight champion has a record of 18 fights, with 15 wins and just three losses. The setbacks were Dominick Cruz, Raphael Assunção e John Dodson. Dillashaw is on a three-fight winning streak against Assunção, John Lineker and cody garbrandt when he regained the belt.
