After the victory at UFC 226, Daniel Cormier challenged Brock Lesnar, and the two staged a typical telecath confrontation inside the octagon. One person who wasn't very happy was the former heavyweight belt holder, Stipe Miocic who had lost to the North American moments before. In an interview with “ESPN”, the fighter of Croatian origin criticized the 'scene' that took place in Las Vegas: “It was a shitty show and it was disrespectful”. He also assured that he expects an immediate rematch.

“I didn’t think that was what the UFC was about (…). I thought they were going to interview me (after the fight) and I was going to ask for a rematch. When Brock arrived, I said, “I'm out of this, I don't need this circus,” Stipe explained.

Lesnar had his last UFC fight in 2016, when he won Mark Hunt. Shortly after the confrontation, Brock was caught in a drug test. With that, he transferred to WWE, where he is to date. His last official MMA triumph was in 2010, when he won Shane carwin. He then lost to Cain Velásquez and alistair overeem.

Miocic compared his story to Lesnar's in Ultimate and demanded respect. The former champion was on a streak of six victories. After winning the belt of Fabricio Werdum, won Overeem, junior gypsy e Francis Ngannou, holding the record for title defense in the 120kg division.

“I want a title shot. I deserve this. (Lesnar) didn't fight for how long? For him to get a title shot, how am I tossed aside? Looks like they're desperate for pay-per-view. I cleaned up the division, I defended (the belt) more than anyone, and you're going to tell me I don't deserve the chance to get it back? Get out of here,” he said.

Stipe Miocic confessed that UFC president Dana White apologized for what happened right after the fight. “It was like a two-second conversation, he apologized for everything that happened in the cage. I just said, 'Whatever it is.' The apology meant nothing. That’s what they want to happen,” he concluded.
