The featherweight champion, Chris Cyborg, I expected the superfight with Amanda nunes take place on September 8th at UFC 228, but the bantamweight belt holder refused the date. As a result, Ultimate is working to make the fight happen on December 29th at UFC 232. After the change, the Curitiba native believes that her duel with her compatriot will be the last in her time in Ultimate, as her contract ends in March 2019 .

“Friday, last week, I talked to the UFC and said I wanted to fight. They offered me on September 8th in Dallas to fight Amanda. I said it is ok. I will fight. Then on Monday they said [she] didn't accept September 8th. So I said I wanted to fight anyway. I don't want to be idle. And then Amanda sent the photo, saying that she accepted the fight on December 29th,” Cris explained in an interview with the “MMFighting” website.
Cyborg hasn't fought since March of this year when she knocked out Yana Kunitskay in the first round at UFC 222 and isn't interested in not fighting for long. Cris stated that it is disrespectful to have to wait so long to fight Amanda.
“I think it's disrespectful to me, waiting a year for someone to be ready. She wants time to be ready. But I believe I could fight before that, not wait all that time. Especially since we get paid when we fight,” she said.
Tired of the way Ultimate manages her career, Cyborg guarantees that she is ready to provide her services elsewhere when her contract ends in March.
“I believe [Nunes] will be my last fight in the UFC. My contract runs until March, and with me waiting to fight in December, I think it will be the last time they will see me fighting in Ultimate,” he concluded.
