Last week, black belt Xande Ribeiro informed the Graciemag website that he wanted to take revenge on David Avellan for the defeat he suffered at ADCC 2007 in the Super Challenge Grappling, on December 8th, in São Paulo.
The American, a prominent name on the world submission scene, had access to this information and sent a response to the press.
“I read the article saying that Xande wants a rematch, here's my answer: I've been training really hard for this event and I'm excited to be part of an event that only has champions. I'm happy that Xande is looking for a rematch, because I am too. There are some guys I've lost to in the past, particularly Tarsis Humphreys, who I'd love to fight again. But Xande, he's wrong if he thinks he's going to win, the rules won't matter when he's finished”, said Avellan.
