Justin Gaethje says he will 'hang up his gloves' if he is defeated by James Vick

The former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion thinks his opponent is unimpressive and has no respect for him

The provocations between Justin gaethje and James Vick already started long before their clash on August 25th at UFC Lincoln. 'The Highlight' announced this week that if he loses to his opponent he will retire from MMA.

The former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion said he is not impressed with his opponent. In fact, he believes Vick is so unimpressive that he would be pressured to retire from MMA if he loses in Lincoln.

“I'm much better than James Vick. It sucks to say this, but if I went out there and got beat by James Vick, I would have to hang up the gloves,” said Gaethje.

For Gaethje, it is unlikely that James Vick poses more danger than his last opponents, Michael Johnson, Eddie Alvarez and Dustin poirier. The latter two scored a knockout victory over The Highlight.

“He talks a lot of shit and I have no respect for him. He never fought Michael Johnson, Eddie Alvarez or Dustin poirier. He can call me whatever he wants, but I fought the best of my first three fights in the UFC”, concluded Justin.

Former World Series of Fighting lightweight champion, Justin gaethje The 29-year-old has a record of 20 fights, with 18 wins and two losses. The last two fights were knockout losses against Alvarez and Poirier.

His opponent, 31-year-old James Vick, has an MMA career of 13 fights with 12 wins and one loss. His last fight was the triumph against Brazilian Francisco Trinaldo in February this year.
