Jhenny Andrade wins the 'MMA Oscar' for the 2nd year in a row

The World MMA Awards is an award ceremony promoted by the British magazine “Fighters Only” every year to honor the highlights of MMA. The award ceremony took place on Tuesday (03) in Las Vegas. The ring girl, Jhenny Andrade, was the only Brazilian awarded in 2018. With the achievement, the São Paulo native accumulates two consecutive awards.

In an interview with the website “Combate”, Jhenny said that this is the fourth year that she has been chosen for the award. “It's the fourth year that I've been among the five chosen, last year I had the opportunity to win, I'm very flattered. I think the fans like my interaction with them, I think that made a difference. I'm already very happy to be among the top five in the world. Firstly I want to thank God, God knows everything. Thank Him always,” she stated.

The best fighters in men's and women's disciplines won the featherweight champion, Max Holloway and strawweight champion, Rose namajunas. The revelation of the year was Brian ortega.

Light weight, Justin gaethje won the “Turnaround of the Year” awards for his victory against Michael Johnson at TUF 25 Finale, and “Fight of the Year”, for his duel against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 218. At the moment he received the trophy, Gaethje teased Conor McGregor in the speech: “Conor McGregor you can suck my s***”, he teased.
