The American fighter, 41-year-old Travis Fulton, has an MMA record that has seen him compete in UFC, WEC, Pancrase and practically any event in the state of Iowa with the means to set up a cage in a church basement or backyard. As of 2017, he has fought over 40 fights.
His opponent, Johnathan Ivey, has almost 100 professional fights in mixed martial arts. Additionally, he has a Fulton tattoo on his leg.
The fight
Ivey is kicked in the ribs and puts his hand to the area, which distracts his opponent. So, he took advantage of the moment and attacked Fulton with a sequence of crosses. One of them hit the chin, which resulted in a knockout. In the end, 'Big John' gets up and leaves out of respect for his opponent.
With the submission loss, Jonathan Ivey is now 41-57.
So to recap.. Johnathan Ivey fakes a heart attack, drops Travis Fulton, proceeds to follow up with GNP… then decides he can't punch his idol in the face anymore and taps out. #mmathings pic.twitter.com/grK54YhOe0
