"I finished. I'm retiring. I'm leaving the world of MMA. I've been thinking about this a lot for a while. I will return to my roots. I'm going to start coaching the All Saints. I coached some of the high school teams last year, but I'm going to complete the transition to All Saints and start doing that,” Hendricks revealed.

Hendricks' career

Hendricks, 34, hangs up his gloves with a record of 18 wins and eight losses as a professional. He debuted in the UFC in 2009, undefeated, with five wins on his record. He also recorded 11 victories in Ultimate, a fact that guaranteed his chance for the belt against the superstar Georges St Pierre. In a tight split decision by the judges, he was defeated by GSP at UFC 167, in 2013. As the Canadian retired after facing Hendricks, the North American once again had a chance at the title at UFC 181, in 2014. The triumph over Robbie Lawler earned him the title.

In his last performance, Johny was dominated by the Brazilian Paulo borrachinha and lost by knockout at UFC 217, in November 2017.
