Just three weeks after being defeated by Tai tuivasa on June 9 at UFC 225, Andrei Arlovski announced his next fight through his personal Instagram. The heavyweight confirmed his fight against Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC Russia on September 15th. Ultimate has not yet made the match official.

The former heavyweight champion started in the organization in 2001 when he submitted Aaron Brink at UFC 28. In almost three decades, Arlovski had 39 fights, with 24 wins, 14 losses and one no result.
An Ultimate veteran, Arlovski showed some new facets to his game last year due to his move to the American Top Team in Florida.
His opponent, Shamil Abdurakhimov, has been in Ultimate since 2015 when he was defeated by Timothy Johnson. Since his debut there have been three victories and two setbacks. A triumph over the veteran Ultimate fighter would be very good for the Russian fighter.
