Donald Cerrone almost withdrew from UFC Singapore fight: 'I was sick and vomiting'

The American said he couldn't get out of bed and for the first time in his 12-year career he thought about giving up

After the defeat to Leon edwards in the main fight of UFC Singapore, Donald Cerrone He confessed at a press conference that he almost gave up on the match against the Englishman. In his 12-year career, the 'Cowboy' never backed down from a fight on fight day. The Ultimate veteran explained that he felt sick and couldn't get out of bed hours before the fight.

“This was the first time in my career that I almost called Dana White and said, “I’m not going to work today.” Then I looked in the mirror and said, “You’re not that guy. Just go". In the UFC since 2011, this is the first time that Cerrone almost called the boss and backed out on the day of the fight. “It was the first time in my career that I almost called Dana and said, 'I'm not going to work today,'” Cowboy admitted.

Although he was ill, Cerrone admitted that he tried to put on the best fight he could, but was still defeated by Edwards.
