Fedor vs Velasquez in the UFC? It is the wish of the Russian businessman

Vadim Finkelstein changes his mind and wants to negotiate with Dana White

After turning a negotiation into one of the biggest soap operas in the history of MMA, Russian businessman Vadim Finkelstein, president of M-1 Global, a company that looks after the interests of Fedor Emelianenko, changed his mind about the UFC. Now his desire to negotiate with Dana White is his.

According to Finkelstein, M-1 Global will offer the UFC a superfight between Fedor and the former heavyweight champion Cain Velazquez, dethroned on November 12th by Junior Gypsy. The Russian leader's idea is to promote an event in Moscow:

“We are determined to move forward. I would like to offer the UFC a fight between Cain Velazquez e Fedor Emelianenko. M-1 Global would have full responsibility for organizing the event sometime in 2012 in Moscow, Russia. I can guarantee Dana White a huge amount of money for this fight, as well as a record crowd. M-1 Global is ready for dialogue and would be happy to consider the option of organizing this event with joint efforts. I will make an offer to ‘my best friend’ soon. Let’s see what he has to say.”

Also as said by Fedor's manager, MMA attracts a lot of interest in Russia and this fight would also be valid for Velasquez:

“A lot of fans want to see this fight. Velasquez is coming off a defeat and is no longer the UFC heavyweight champion. So instead of climbing the ladder again, he could just fight one of the best fighters in MMA history. Last Sunday's event showed how great the interest in MMA is in Russia. So if we can fight this fight together, we will need something even bigger than the Olympic Sports Arena.”
