The next edition of Shooto Brasil, scheduled for May 26th, in Rio de Janeiro, will have a special attraction. Former Ultimate athlete Hacran Dias has agreed to return to the organization after five years and eight fights in the UFC. He faces Maurício 'Bad Boy' Machado, in the lightweight division (under 70kg).

Hacran gained international prominence in Shooto and is from the time when fights were still held in a ring. At 34 years old and one of the leaders among the athletes of the Nova União team, the partner of José Aldo arrives to try to get back on track to winning ways after being in the UFC. Despite having started winning in 2012, Hacran had a record of three wins and five losses in Ultimate (all in the decision), which caused him to be shut down at the beginning of this year. And there was no better place for the return of Rio. At Shooto he held eight duels and was present in the distant second edition of the event, in 2007. In his career, Dias has 23 triumphs and only six setbacks, five of which were in the UFC.

“We are very satisfied with the assembly of this card. Hacran's return after five years playing in the biggest MMA event in the world is very significant. It was at Shooto that he made his name internationally and we are sure that this return will do a lot of good for him to get back on track with the success he has always had in his career. We are also happy to be able to fulfill our promise to hold events monthly, this month is already the second, and we will continue like this until the end of the year”, says Dedé Pederneiras, president of Shooto Brasil.

In addition to Hacran, the event also features 11 other fights, with emphasis on Fábio Nascimento and Lucas Ananias, who have the second most important fight on the show, and Rafael Bernardo, a BOPE police officer who usually shakes up the events he participates in with his fans, facing Jaciel de Souza.
