The UFC confirmed another fight for the card do UFC 142, which will be played in Rio de Janeiro, on January 14, 2012. Iuri Marajó was chosen to face Michihiro Omigawa in a featherweight duel at UFC Rio 2.
Coming from the merger of WEC and UFC, Marajó made his debut at the biggest event in the world at UFC Rio, in August, when he won Felipe Sertanejo by unanimous decision. The Pará native has a 26-3 record and is on a 12-game winning streak.
Judoka Omigawa, formerly of DREAM and Sengoku, achieved his first victory in the UFC 19 days ago, when he overcame Jason Young at UFC 138. Previously he had a record of 0-4 in the American organization, counting his previous and current stint.
