While all eyes were on UFC 139 in San Jose, with the Wanderlei Silva e Mauricio Shogun, other Brazilians were also doing well in another city in the United States.
Bellator 58 took place this Saturday night (19), in Hollywood, Florida, and featured six Brazilian athletes in action. Among the highlights, Marlon Sandro recovered from the defeat he suffered in the GP final and submitted compatriot Rafael Dias with a hand triangle in the first round. In another 100% Brazilian fight, Valdir Araújo defeated Aílton Barbosa in a unanimous decision by the judges.
Of the other clashes, only Brazil. Striker Cosmo Alexandre won his first MMA fight by knocking out Avery McPhatter in the first round, and Fábio Mello beat Farkhad Sharipov by unanimous decision from the judges.
The main fight of the event still had a surprise. Lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez was surprised by Michael chandler and ended up finishing with a rear naked choke in the fourth round.
