An idol of many Brazilians, including the great UFC fighters, Wesley Safadão revealed his passion for MMA. Before the show, in Belém (PA), Safadão was intimidated when holding a replica of a UFC belt, but he made the fighters look bad to intimidate his opponents.

In an interview with the website Combate.com, Safadão spoke about his love for fighting and revealed that he knows some fighters come to his shows. “I really enjoy (MMA). It took a lot of work to get that belt! I really enjoy it, I have a lot of friends, (Antônio) Pezão, for example, is always with us at shows, we've met at shows in the USA, Amanda (Nunes) too. There are some that I want to meet, like Anderson Silva, I watched a lot of fights. I met the Minotauro and Minotouro too. I always root for good fights, but on Saturdays there are usually shows. I lost count of how many times I watched it on the internet and, when I got to the shows, the internet started to get bad, I got angry, but I was always watching videos the next day and rooting mainly for the Brazilians.”, he stated.

The singer revealed his big dream is to meet the former middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. He talks about his respect for the fighters' work, for giving up pleasant situations to dedicate themselves to their career. “It always crosses my mind what they do in the period of two, three months before the fight, the focus on preparation, nutrition, they give up a lot of things, always trying to do something different, that's one of the things I admire most at this stop in the fight. For some it is still an aggressive sport, but we know that they are professionals and take all the precautions that exist and are fundamental,” he said.

Safadão wants to go to a UFC event, but hasn't managed to balance it with his show schedule yet, as they are both on Saturdays. “I've already tried to go to a couple of UFCs, but the itinerary didn't work out because it's actually Saturday's parade and there's always a show on Saturday. Never beat the script. There was one time when I was on vacation, I took about 15 days off, and there was a fight in Las Vegas, but, the week I had to come back, I left and the fight was the other weekend. I was very angry”, concluded the singer.
