In an interview with the website 'MMA Junkie', the American stated that the UFC has already approached him and offered him a new proposal. The condition for the former welterweight champion (77 kg) to accept is to step into the octagon at the weight at which he performed best.
“I'm without a contract at the moment. The UFC still wants me. They want me back as a welterweight and I agreed, I need to go back to welterweight. I want to fight again as soon as possible. I'm not the kind of guy who says, 'I think I deserve better.' I'm going back to where I want to be, to the welterweight division. I'm starting to get faster. I'm working on my speed. With all my training, everyone will see that my weight is coming down,” Hendricks said.
Hendricks was hired in 2009 and was welterweight champion in 2014. In his first title defense he was defeated by Robbie Lawler. With almost 11 years of career, his record is 26 fights with 18 wins and eight losses.
