After the UFC announced the first two fights of the UFC 142: UFC Rio 2, two more duels were revealed this Tuesday.
Light weight Edson Barboza will face the British Terry emo. Born in Nova Friburgo (RJ), Barboza is coming off a victory in exactly the first UFC Rio, when he had the fight of the night against fellow Englishman Ross Pearson. Etim performed last Saturday, achieving the second fastest submission in UFC history, submitting Edward Faaloloto in 17 seconds.
The news, released by Globoesporte.com, even took the Brazilian fighter by surprise: “REALLY? I didn’t even know about that!!!”, Barboza exclaimed on Twitter.
Who will also be present in the Rio octagon will be the Santa Catarina native Thiago tavares. Like Barboza, Tavares is coming off a victory at UFC Rio, when he knocked out American Spencer Fisher. The lightweight will face the Canadian in January Sam stout, who won Yves Edwards by knockout in his last appearance, at UFC 131.
