Veteran Rodrigo Cavalheiro needed almost eight months to make his Brave debut. But the welterweight took advantage of his first fight in the organization, knocking out Alessandro Gambulino in the first round with elbows. With the nervousness of the first fight over, Cavalheiro is now aiming for higher goals.

During the week of Brave 11, in Belo Horizonte, the Brazilian admitted to having kept an eye on Mohammad Fakhreddine, one of Brave's biggest stars, who was in Brazil to help his friend Ahmed Amir. However, upon learning that former Bellator Karl Amoussou had signed with the promotion, the focus appears to have changed.

“I’ll fight anyone. I had my eye on Fakhreddine, because it was because of him that I didn't fight the Carlston Harris in August last year. But a fight with Amoussou also interests me a lot, as he is a well-known, tough and experienced guy. Let's wait. I'm here to be world champion and I won't rest until I have my belt”, assured Cavalheiro.

The welterweight would face Harris at Brave 8, but the fight fell through because Fakhreddine failed the weight cut, promoting “Mozambique” to the title fight, which he won in a decision over Carl Booth. Rodrigo admits that he still hasn't swallowed Harris' victory.

PUBLICITY:

“That was the biggest day of his life. He knows I'd beat him up if we fought. Suddenly he managed to escape from me and fight for the title. This strap was supposed to be with me, but things happen for a reason. I came to win the belt and my target is Carlston. As long as he has the belt, I’ll want to fight him,” he declared.
