Rafael dos Anjos is scheduled to compete for the interim welterweight belt (up to 77,1 kg.) against Colby covington at UFC 225, June 9, in Chicago (USA). Despite the scheduled commitment, the Brazilian does not take his focus off the linear champion Tyron woodley. For RDA, the American refused to face him in search of a 'superfight' and only made himself available to step into the Octagon in November.

“After the fight Demian Maia, he (Woodley) knew he needed surgery on his shoulder. It took him six months to have the surgery, right? And then he wants to fight (Michael) Bisping, (Nate) Diaz, St. Pierre, then Conor (McGregor). None of those fights happened, so he knew the next guy in line was me. Then they told me he would be ready to fight in November, December. I said no, I can’t wait that long,” he fired at dos Anjos.

The Brazilian also argued that Woodley delayed his return not to avoid facing him, but in search of a fight against a big name.

“I don’t think he’s delaying so he doesn’t fight me. He (Woodley) wants to fight someone else. He wants to fight a big name. That's what it looks like, because I'm told he said, 'Okay, I'll be ready to fight in June with GSP.' No, no, Tyron, you will fight the GDR. 'No no. GDR, only in November,” he added.
