The confusion began when Garbrandt wrote that the UFC had said that the current champion was making excuses not to face a rematch. Dillashaw didn't leave it alone and replied: “The last time I checked we were doing a press conference in New York (USA) to promote our fight on August 4th, in Los Angeles.”

After that, Cody took the insults to another level. “Don’t talk s***! I'm talking about the fight in March, where you said you were injured. Must be all that steroid that went into your head. Have a good camp, see you in August.”

Cody didn't like his former friend's attitude and the two have one of the biggest rivalries in MMA today. Before they faced each other at UFC 217, Garbrandt knocked out TJ in training. But in the octagon, Dillashaw prevailed and took the title from Garbrandt. Now, the rematch is expected for UFC 227, August 4th.
