Penn, Diaz didn't give his opponent a chance and won the duel with a unanimous decision from the judges. After the fight, Nick again provoked Geoges St. Pierre, champion of the category.
“He’s not hurt, he’s scared. Where are you, George?” Diaz shot at St. Pierre.
In its turn, B.J. Penn He valued his rival's achievements and surprised everyone by announcing his retirement as a professional fighter.
“This is the last time you see me in here. He finished! I’m tired of coming home to my daughter with a face like that,” said the former UFC champion in the lightweight and welterweight categories.
Cro Cop is knocked out
Another attraction of this 137th edition of the show was Croatian Mirko Cro Cop, who once again failed to repeat his Pride performances and ended up being knocked out by the North American Roy Nelson at the end of the third round. With a clear fight, Nelson took advantage of the last round of the dispute to take the fight to the ground and punish with ground and pound to win by technical knockout.
