Klidson de Abreu defends title against Matt Baker at Brave 11

Brave Combat Federation light heavyweight champion, Brazilian Klidson de Abreu already has a new opponent for the first defense of his belt. After leaving Kennedy Nzechukwu due to injury, the organization promoted Canadian Matt Baker to face the Thai Evolution fighter. The duel will serve as the co-main fight of Brave 11, an event that will take place on April 13th in Belo Horizonte.

Klidson de Abreu won the light heavyweight belt at the historic Brave 8, when he submitted the then undefeated German Timo Feucht with a triangle and armbar combination. Before that, the jiu-jitsu black belt had already submitted his other opponent at Brave – in March last year, Abreu beat Artur Guseinov with a rear naked choke at Brave 4: Unstoppable.

Baker, in turn, will make his Brave debut and hasn't fought since January 2017, when he had a No Contest against Enrico Cortese. A Pitbull Brothers fighter, the 33-year-old Canadian has a professional record of 14 wins, nine losses and two unsuccessful fights.

In addition to the duel between Klidson and Baker, Brave 11 will feature another title fight – the interim lightweight title will be contested in the main fight by Luan “Miau” Santiago and Lucas “Mineiro” Martins. The show also features the debut of jiu-jitsu legend Bruno Malfacine in Brave (he faces local fighter Rafael “Mini-Man”), as well as Gesias Cavalcante x Erivan Pereira and former Bellator Rodrigo Cavalheiro facing Alessandro Gambulino.
