Rede Globo closes UFC broadcasting rights

The fight between Cigano and Velasquez will be the first shown by the network

Ultimate definitely gained prominence in the media in Brazil. After the success of UFC Rio in August, several national broadcasters competed for the rights to broadcast the show, but this Thursday, an agreement was finally made official. Rede Globo, the largest television network in Brazil, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) confirmed an exclusive contract to show the event. The broadcaster will have exclusivity to show live all UFC events in Brazil and three abroad, in addition to the first Brazilian edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

“Brazil is a huge market for the UFC and it makes perfect sense for it to be the first country in which we produce our first local The Ultimate Fighter. Let's find the next one Anderson Silva ou José Aldo, I have no doubt! And doing this alongside Rede Globo is fantastic”, says UFC president, Dana White, about the first season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) in Brazil.

“UFC Rio had the most sensational atmosphere I’ve ever seen. The Brazilian fans were unbelievable. And you can bet that we will bring more live events to the country. TV Globo is the perfect partner that will raise the level of MMA in Brazil. I can’t wait to get back”, adds the UFC president.

Congratulations on the first-hand news, this is really very good for the development of this sport here in Brazil, and of course Rede Globo could not be left out.
Congratulations once again to the Super Fights team.

Globo's website has just confirmed the information, will we have a narration by Galvao Bueno?!, I personally would think it was a great show, JUNIOR CIGANO DO BRRRRRRASIL!!! (VICTORY THEME PLAYS)

Now all that is needed is for the events that take place within Brazil to be more publicized through open-channel communication channels. We had a great event in Porto Alegre promoted by Atlantida radio, which had a lot of impact. In my case, I'm from Rio Grande do Sul, I still believe that here in the state we are starting to “worship” MMA.
We have great local fighters in Brazil who put on a show, it's a shame they aren't valued as they deserve.

As long as the first row isn't from the cast of soap operas, it's going to be a lot. Congratulations to you

For the love of God, not Galvão Bueno, the guy barely understands F1 and football, MMA or even a dick...anything else...in fact I'm in favor of boycotting and running a national campaign not to watch UFC on Globo, because as they said, “incites violence”, they couldn’t bear to lose audience to Rede TV, they want to monopolize Brazilian TV… and still have Galvão narrate? It’s about to end…
