Video: Former UFC champion passes belt to Demi Lovato at show

Matt Hughes, former welterweight champion, lent the UFC's highest honor to the singer to perform one of his songs during a show in the USA

Singer Demi Lovato is a declared fan of fights. Practically from jiu-jitsu, the pop star dated the Brazilian MMA fighter Guilherme Bomba and is always seen in the front rows of events around the world. This weekend, however, the brunette went further. During a show held in the city of Rosemont (USA), Lovato took to the stage with the former UFC champion's belt Matt hugs. With the play she presented one of her songs to the public in the State of Illinois.

The singer published on her Instagram account the video of the moment in which Hughes hands her the UFC's top honor. Demi Lovato, visibly excited, celebrated: 'I have a belt tonight from a champion'. The former fighter, showing shyness about the footage, reveals that he is a former champion. But the brunette was quick to pull the trigger and added: “You’re still a champion.”

Matt hugs He built a solid career in MMA and retired with a record of 45 wins and nine losses as a professional. The 'Hall of Famer' hung up his gloves in 2011 when he lost to Josh koscheck at UFC 135. In June last year, the former fighter went through a difficult time. He crashed his car into a moving train and spent days in a coma in the hospital. Still recovering, he has difficulty walking. In January of this year, the North American was honored by Ultimate at UFC St. Louis.
