What was unlikely happened! Transsexual Anne Viriato went up to the fighting area at Mr. Cage 34 to face a man under MMA rules. And after 15 minutes of fighting in the early hours of this Sunday (11), in Manaus, she defeated Raílson Paixão in a unanimous decision by the judges. The trans athlete's victory over a man was the first recorded in the history of the sport.

A specialist in jiu-jitsu, Anne didn't shy away from exchanging blows against Raílson, balancing the fight on her feet. On the other hand, she gained an advantage every time the contest went to the ground. In the end, the three judges scored the victory for the transgender athlete.
“Thank you for accepting to fight with me, Raílson. I fought against prejudice today. There were a lot of people rooting against it and now I saw everyone applauding. Thank you”, said the athlete after the fight.
