O Jungle Fight returned to Rio de Janeiro with innovations this weekend. The event promoted by Wallid Ismail held, on Saturday night, the 33rd edition of the show in Cidade de Deus, a needy community in Rio de Janeiro.
The almost two thousand people who attended the community gym, made famous by the film of the same name, were able to watch good duels and several guests in the audience.
In the main fight of the night, lightweight Alexandre Pulga successfully defended his unbeaten record in MMA. Facing Uddi Lima, the black belt from the Nova Geração team, who specializes in jiu-jitsu, was not intimidated by his striking and with a powerful knee knocked out his opponent at the end of the first round. With the triumph, Pulga, 32 years old, recorded his eleventh victory as a professional.
Another highlight of the night was the fight between bantamweights Illiarde Santos and Eduardo Kiko. However, the long-awaited duel ended without result. After dominating the first round, Iliarde landed a knee in the face of Kiko, who was on all fours on the ground, a blow that is not allowed. As a result, the judges declared the fight a “No Contest” (no result).
