The UFC's feared machete struck once again. The organization announced the cut of five athletes from its squad this Wednesday (07). Among those dismissed, the only Brazilian on the list is Francimar Bodão from Acre. In addition to him, Kailin Curran, Bobby Nash, Dmitry Poberezhets and Galore Bofando were the others fired by Ultimate.

Bodão debuted in the UFC in August 2013 and had nine fights for the franchise, with four wins, four losses and one no contest (No Contest). Despite a promising start with three victories in his first four fights, the middleweight lost performance in his last appearances and was experiencing consecutive setbacks: against Aleksander Rakic, in September 2017 and Gian Villante, at UFC 220, in January this year.

Among the other dismissals, the one that draws the most attention is that of Dmitry Poberezhets, who didn't even debut on the show. He had two fights scheduled and was removed from both due to injury.

Another important casualty was Galore Bofando. The welterweight only had two fights in the UFC. He debuted in the Octagon in July 2017 with a spectacular knockout against Charlie Ward. But he lost to Chad Laprise in December
