The black belt Demian Maia He's going through a good phase in the UFC. Coming from three victories in the last four fights, the Brazilian athlete is trying to pass on some luck to his favorite team. A São Paulo fan, the Brazilian fighter visited the Barra Funda CT this Saturday and was received by star player Luis Fabiano.
In the company of his idol, Demian spoke about the excitement of getting to know his favorite team more closely. “Being at the club and watching football takes me back to my childhood, when I went to São Paulo games with my father,” said the black belt.
The fighter also stated that even with several professional commitments, he still follows his favorite team. “After I started fighting, with traveling and training, I stopped going to games so much, but I didn’t stop watching,” said Maia.
During the visit, Demian received a shirt signed by Luis Fabiano, who in return received a glove used by the UFC 136 fighter, when he defeated his compatriot Jorge Santiago.
“It is a pleasure to welcome you here. He is a great person and a great champion. When I’m not focused, I stay up late watching (UFC) fights,” said the striker.
