The story began when the fighter's manager revealed that Lesnar's contract with WWE is nearing the end and, if he wishes, he has complete autonomy to define his future, including returning to the UFC. After the statement, White used his social networks to increase the rumors. The director published a photo in which the fighter is wearing a UFC shirt and a emoji smiling, which could indicate a new partnership between the manager and the athlete.

The fighter suffered a serious problem with diverticulitis in 2010 and announced his retirement from MMA in 2011. The giant returned to the octagon at the historic UFC 200, in July 2016, and won Mark Hunt. However, as Brock was caught doping, the triumph was reverted to 'No Contest'
