The challenge was to Derek Brunson, seventh in the middleweight rankings. He published a signed UFC page on his Twitter account and asked Bisping to accept the dispute.

PUBLICITY:

“Dear Bisping, you are not an easy fight. Obviously you are ranked ahead of me. It only makes sense for number six, which is you, to fight with number seven, which is me. It would be good for both of us. Half of our division is older than us, stop complaining. You’re not going anywhere, and neither am I,” he wrote.

Despite the respectful challenge, Bisping simply ignored Brunson and assured that he has a “bigger fish” in mind for his farewell fight.

PUBLICITY:

“Photoshop is an incredible thing, because 'Delusional' Brunson wasn't offered a fight with me. The reason I say 'Delusional' Brunson is: I think he's still a shadow of himself after being knocked out by [Ronaldo] Jacaré recently. Derek, you're a good guy, you're taking important steps. But I have bigger fish to fry. I don't even know whose contract this is. Nice try, Derek”, replied the Englishman.
