“Some of the fans may not know, but I was the Tyron woodley original in my relationship with Dana. I understand what he's feeling, but he's going to learn what I learned. It reminds me of something they told me when I got married: 'Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?' Because if you're right, you won't be happy. At this point, he can't win, because he fights in the UFC. Dana is the president of the UFC, he can't win. Feel however you want to feel, but you have to know that whenever the conversation is about something Dana said, don't even respond,” said Evans, in an interview with the program The MMA Hour, from the “MMA Fighting” website.

“It's a difficult thing to do, because your ego is involved. You know Dana is wrong and you want to prove it. You might feel like it's because of this or that and you want to expose the truth, but ultimately, at what cost? Your legacy, your chance to be remembered for what you love to do. At the end of the day, these are the things that make you hate fighting. I spent many years of my career arguing with Dana, trying to fight Shogun or some other guy. But in the end, it wasn't worth it, it just wasted my time. I understand what Tyron is saying and he's right, but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it. This conversation between Tyron and Dana should not happen,” he added.
