Coming off a crushing victory in the rematch with Derek Brunson, Ronaldo Jacare he once again positioned himself close to a title shot. And the Brazilian once again announced that he is ready to challenge the champion Robert whittaker or the winner of the interim title duel, scheduled for UFC 221, between Luke Rockhold e Yoel romero.

However, the jiu-jitsu world champion admitted that he may need to have another fight if he wants to secure a title shot. In an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, Jacaré made clear his regrets with Ultimate.
“The UFC is always complicating things for me. Rockhold just fought David Branch, who came from another event, and will now be fighting for the title. But I think I'll have to do another fight. I always have to fight one more. Why just me? Rockhold beat Branch and will now fight for the interim title, do you understand what I’m saying?”, commented the Brazilian, mentioning the name of Chris Weidman as a possible future opponent.
“Fighting Weidman makes sense. I never turn down a fight, and I wouldn't turn down a good fight like this. It would be a great pleasure to face him. This is the fight that makes sense now. I don't know if he is healthy because he recently had surgery. But I know I'm pretty healthy. I’m going to give my body a few days of rest, celebrate my birthday and get back to training”, he assured.
