The superfight between Brazilian champions Amanda x Chris Cyborg took an important step towards becoming reality! The decision for the duel was only dependent on Cris' yes, but the UFC featherweight champion used her social media to confirm that she agreed to face her compatriot, owner of the franchise's bantamweight belt.

“I have agreed to fight @amanda_leoa July 7th in Las Vegas as part of #UFC226 and #InternationalFightWeek. Now I'm waiting for my manager to work with @ufc on a deal so we can make #CyborgVNunes #TheSuperFight official,” Cyborg wrote on his Instagram account.
The UFC's initial idea would be to promote the superfight at UFC 224, on May 26, in Rio de Janeiro. But, last week, Cyborg made it a condition that he would only face Amanda if the fight was held on a big card, since, according to Cris, her rival is unable to sell pay-per-view packages in the USA. UFC 226, on July 7th, is one of the biggest UFC cards of the year, during North American independence week (July 4th).
“I can fight Amanda... But she doesn't sell pay-per-view, at most 100 thousand (at UFC 215, when she faced Shevchenko). Beating her doesn't change my career at all. Superfight? She's not McGregor. If it's a big event, with big names, it could be a big fight. ”, said Cyborg, in an interview with the program 'MMA Hour'. “Of course she wants this fight. She fought Ronda and Ronda made her three million. She fought Miesha, on the Brock Lesnar, and did pay-per-view. But it doesn’t sell for itself,” he added.
