A day after Russian news agency TASS reported that Khabib Nurmagomedov e Tony Ferguson would face each other at UFC 223, Ultimate made the duel official as the main attraction of the event, which will take place in Brooklyn, New York, on April 7th. However, it is not yet known whether the duel will serve as a defense of Ferguson's interim lightweight belt or whether the linear title will be officially stripped from him. The expectation is that a definitive announcement about the imbroglio will come out next Friday (19), when there will be a press conference before the UFC 220 weigh-in that will be attended by Ferguson and Nurmagomedov, as well as Dana White, president of the Ultimate.
