After being suspended for two years for doping before her UFC debut, Amanda ribas used social media to issue a statement warning MMA athletes around the world about the dangers of contaminated supplements. The Brazilian guarantees her innocence, says she has never heard of the steroid ostarine that was found in her system by USADA and reveals that her own research found another banned substance in one of her supplements.

After spending a lot of money on the tests, which are paid for by the athlete, we learned that ostarine had not been found. However, clumbeterol was found in one of the supplements, a substance that, despite not having appeared in my anti-doping tests, is also classified as illegal. I have never used doping of any kind and I feel extremely humiliated and harmed to be paying for something I didn't do. The appearance of clumbeterol in one of the supplements previously used by me shows the poor quality and supervision of some manufacturers of this type of product”, commented the Brazilian.
Amanda, who has six wins and one loss in her professional career, was suspended for two years and will only be able to fight again in 2019. She guaranteed that she will comply with the punishment and return to become strawweight world champion, in addition to leaving a alert to all fighters.
“I want to declare my innocence here, and leave a huge warning to all other professional athletes in Brazil about the risk that this type of consumption poses to our lives and careers. I will take it upon myself to warn everyone! I'm going to continue training hard to go in search of the UFC belt”, he assured.
