Ferguson provokes Khabib and talks about moving up to welterweight

The North American declared that he will 'clean up the accumulated pollution' both in the lightweight and welterweight divisions

Interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson made a point of responding to the challenge of Khabib Nurmagomedov, which after winning Edson Barboza at UFC 219, he said he beat both champions (Ferguson and Conor McGregor, owner of the linear belt) on the same night. “El Cucuy” assured that a fight with the undefeated Russian interests him and revealed his desire to “clean up” the welterweight division as well.

Through his official Twitter, the American said he didn't care what the UFC approved in relation to the three fighters and said he was ready to “clean up the pollution” in both the lightweight and welterweight divisions.

“I don’t care what the UFC approves. I will destroy 'The Notorious' and the Khabib Nurmagomedov, and then I'll move up to welterweight after I finish that division and clean up all the trash at the top. Pollution has accumulated over the years. It’s time to clean the house,” he declared. Tony Ferguson, which comes from victory over Kevin Lee at UFC 216.

Khabib and Ferguson came close to fighting in March last year at UFC 209. On that occasion, the two faced each other at the event's Media Day, but the fight was canceled after Nurmagomedov fell ill during the weight cut and need to be hospitalized.
