Cris Cyborg earns more than R$1,5 million and receives salary from UFC 219

2017 ended on a high note for Chris Cyborg! The Brazilian, who defended the women's featherweight belt for the first time against Holly holm at UFC 219, he pocketed more than R$1,5 million for his performance. The Nevada Athletic Commission, the entity responsible for sanctioning the event, disclosed the scholarships paid to athletes at the show and the Curitiba native received the highest salary with US$500, around R$1.650.000 at the current rate. Dela Holm, her rival, had the second largest purse with US$300, around R$930.

The other Brazilians at the event had much lower salaries. Edson Barboza, who had the second most important fight on the show and lost to the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, received US$75 thousand. Already Matheus Nicolau, who played on the preliminary card and won Louis Smolka, had a grant of US$28 thousand.
